Filing Multiple Form Types in One Account

Yes — you can file multiple form types (1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1095-C, W-2, etc.) from a single BoomTax account. Each form type is managed as a separate filing, so they don't interfere with each other.


How It Works

In BoomTax, each form type you file is its own filing. For example, if you need to file 1099-NECs and 1099-MISCs for the same tax year:

  1. Create a filing for 1099-NEC — import your NEC data, review, and e-file
  2. Create a separate filing for 1099-MISC — import your MISC data, review, and e-file

Each filing has its own import, review, and e-file workflow. You can work on them independently and submit them at different times.

What Can I File from One Account?

BoomTax supports all of these form types under a single account:

  • ACA Forms: 1095-C, 1095-B (with transmittals 1094-C and 1094-B)
  • 1099 Series: 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-R, 1099-K, 1099-B, 1099-C, 1099-S, W-2G, and more
  • W-2 Forms
  • State filings for applicable states

Do I Need a Separate License for Each Form Type?

Yes — each form type requires its own filing license. Pricing is based on the number of forms per type. You can purchase licenses for each form type as needed from your account.

Can I File for Multiple EINs / Payers?

Yes. You can create separate filings for different payers or EINs under the same account. Each filing is tied to a specific payer and form type.

Tips

  • Don't mix form types in one spreadsheet. Each form type has its own template with different columns. Use the correct import template for each.
  • E-file each form type separately. Your 1099-NEC filing is submitted independently from your 1099-MISC filing, even if they're for the same payer.
  • Deadlines vary by form type. For example, 1099-NEC is due January 31 while 1099-MISC e-filing is due March 31. See Filing Deadlines (TY2025).
  • Corrections are per-filing. If you need to correct a 1099-NEC, it doesn't affect your 1099-MISC filing.

Getting Started

Log in to your BoomTax account and select the form type you want to file. If you've already started a filing for one form type, you can start another filing for a different type from your dashboard.
